Classic Apple Tart

This classic Apple Tart gives you just the right dose of apple, cinnamon and date flavour. It tastes amazing and is gluten free!

 For the crust

  • 110g oat flour (oats blended into flour, choose gluten free if you want)
  • 15g or 1 tbsp flaxseed
  • 40g buckwheat flour
  • 60g corn starch
  • 25 g Date Sugar
  • Pinch of salt
  • 120g Butter cold
  • 60g Butter milk cold

For the filling

  • 90 g walnuts
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 60 ml maple syrup
  • 2 eggs
  • 600 g apples (around 3 to 4)
  • Vanilla
  • 1 tbsp butter


For the crust 

  1. Mix dry ingredients together, then add the butter and knead using your hands. 
  2. Add buttermilk and knead until everything is well combined to form the dough. 
  3. Cover with cling film and place in the refrigerator for 30 min.

For the filling

  1. Process the walnuts until they become flour. 
  2. Add eggs, cinnamon, vanilla and maple syrup. Mix everything together.
  3. Preheat your oven at 180°C
  4. Take the dough from the refrigerator, roll it up to form a circle.
  5. Then roll the edges to close it. Add the filling. 
  6. Then cut the thin slices of the apples and place them on top of the filling.
  7. Bake at 180°C for about 30 to 40 minutes.
  8. When you take it from the oven, spread 1 tbsp butter and cinnamon and enjoy!
