Date Syrup and Chocolate Granola

Tray Filled with Nuts & Porridge Oats


Another tasty treat from Hooyos_House_, chocolate granola are perfect for suhoor during Ramadan. They are super easy breakfast filling that is full of fibre and a great alternative to sugary cereals, they can also be stored in air right for up to 2 wks. You can serve with yogurt or full fat milk. 


* 4 tbsp coconut oil
* 1 tbsp cocoa powder
* 1 tbsp Date syrup or maple syrup
* 200g jumbo porridge oats
* 100g mixed roughly chopped nuts


* Melt the coconut oil with the cocoa powder and date syrup in a large non stick sauce pan over gentle heat and stir regularly
* Remove from heat and stir in the oats until thoroughly coated. Scatter evenly over a baking tray
* Bake in preheated oven of 170 degrees for 15 min
* Remove from the oven and stir in the nuts. Return to oven for further 10 min
* Remove from oven and leave to cool and crisp up on tray
